On Tuesday, June 3rd, I co-hosted the first pop-up Mermaid Yogis gathering at La Jolla Shores. We put the word out on instagram two weeks ago and word traveled fast! There are over 1000 of us participating in the #mermaidyogis challenge on instagram, flowing together virtually, so we thought, why not host a meet up and invite all the mermaids living in or near San Diego to gather and connect in person. The turnout was incredible! Over 50 yogis came out to play, laugh, connect and spread good vibes. Lots of San Diego local yogis and also a few came down from Orange County, Los Angeles, Utah, and beyond! We had a blast just hanging out and talking all things mermaid and yoga for a few hours, then hydrated with some delicious Pitaya Plus spritzers. We concluded the meet-up with a goddess circle just as the sun was setting over the sea. I guided everyone through a meditation dedicated to friendship, trust and vulnerability, then we flowed through a few sun salute variations, pulling from the first few poses in our #mermaidyogis challenge. Finally, we concluded with a dedication to Mother Earth and a commitment to protect her always. All in all, it was a beyond beautiful day!
